چکیده
The paper is devoted to the issues concerning with modeling and simulating of hierarchical database multiprocessor systems. The requirements for a model of parallel database systems are defined. A new computational model of the hierarchical database multiprocessor architecture is described. This model is called DMM (Database Multiprocessor Model) and designed for OLTP workload. It allows us to simulate and analyze an arbitrary multiprocessors configuration for database application. The practical experience of exploiting the DMM model is discussed.

A Multiprocessor System with Non-Preemptive Earliest-Deadline-First Scheduling Policy: A Performability Study
This paper introduces an analytical method for approximating the performability of a firm realtime system modeled by a multi-server queue. The service discipline in the queue is earliestdeadline- first (EDF), which is an optimal scheduling algorithm. Real-time jobs with exponentially distributed relative deadlines arrive according to a Poisson process. All jobs have deadlines until the end of s...
متن کاملHierarchical Query Execution in a Parallel Object-Oriented Database System
This article presents a hierarchical query execution strategy for a parallel object-oriented database (OODB) system. The system, named PRACTIC, is based on a concurrent active class management model and is mapped to an abstract hierarchical multiprocessor architecture. The proposed strategy is studied analytically and by simulation on a transputer-based machine, verifying the theoretical result...
متن کاملA Hierarchical Classification Method for Breast Tumor Detection
Introduction Breast cancer is the second cause of mortality among women. Early detection of it can enhance the chance of survival. Screening systems such as mammography cannot perfectly differentiate between patients and healthy individuals. Computer-aided diagnosis can help physicians make a more accurate diagnosis. Materials and Methods Regarding the importance of separating normal and abnorm...
متن کاملHierarchical Modeling with dynamic Priority Time Petri Nets for Multiprocessor Scheduling Analysis
Dynamic Priority Time Petri Nets (dPTPN) represent a powerful formalism for the scheduling analysis of Real-Time Systems running on Multiprocessor architecture. The originality of the dPTPN semantics, compared to the existing research work, is the dynamic calculation of the priority of transitions in conflict. The present paper presents a new modeling strategy with dPTPN based on object modelin...
متن کاملMultiprocessor Performability Analysis
Conclusions Performability models of multiprocessor systems and their evaluation are presented. Two cases in which hierarchical modeling is applied are examined. 1. Models are developed to analyze the behavior of processor arrays of various sizes in the presence of permanent, transient, intermittent, and near-coincident faults. Models can be generated for typical reconfiguration schemes that co...
